I have units in reserves, but you have no dead. so no mutation.

start of your turn the dragon will attack.

This is why I don't trust dragons. the belly is too devastating to do no damage. I should've just fingered two units. *sigh*

I think I have the right visualization of the board.

counter maneuver: 2, so it goes to three.

Rolling my wyrm against myself.
Death Wyrm - 6 Claw

So 8 and 6.

Army response against the dragon
Dracolich - 4 Magic
Lich - 4 Cantrip
Heucuva - 3 Magic
Heucuva - 2 Save
Wraith - 2 Maneuver
Apparition - 2 Magic
Apparition - 1 Melee
Apparition - 1 Save
Apparition - 1 Save

A cantrip, 4 saves, 1 melee

The Lich turns his face from the two elemental beasts tearing his fledgling apprentices into shreds so small they will never revive. Squinting into the distance he can almost image he can see the smile on that slimy Bog adepts face, or at least what constitutes for a face. He raises his fist, palm up, arm straight and points it towards the enemy mage. As the dragons loom over him, he slowly raises one finger towards the sky and releases his power one last time.

(FoD a Bog Adapt at the frontier).

Ten damage, so 6 health survive. The dracolich and a Heucuva.

The drake flys away to your reserves.

First march at my home
Unopposed maneuver down to 2 (why not)

Roll for magic: 0
Give them a break, they've had a hard day.


Second march, unopposed capture the 8th face (why not)
Magic: Skeletal Steed - 4 ID
Plenty of dead, so it doubles to 8. (Good horsie)
Resurrect two apparitions.

Reinforce the Wraith to your home.
Retreat the apparitions and dragonlich and heucuva to reserves.

EOT.

So, in getting ready for my turn, I think you had a math error on the resolution to the dragon attacks.

You indicated "Ten damage, so 6 health survive. The dracolich and a Huecuva."
However, you only rolled 4 saves against 14 damage, so wouldn't only 4 health survive? Or, is there a funky Undead thing that I missed.

I was trying to construct the board and you have no units in the DUA at the start of your turn.

The Wraith that was there you had resurrected prior to my throwing the dragons at you.

So, I don't think you can do the stepped damage.

No step damage was possible, thats why i didn't do it.

I started with 16 health in my army.

The dragons together did 14 damage.

I generated 4 saves.

14 - 4 = 10 damage left.

16 health - 10 damage = 6 health left.

Well, I'm glad I was right about the Stepped Damage mechanic. If I only could have "mathed" right, I would have seen how you too the damage.

After all was said and done, I think I've got the correct view of the board. Can't visualize it without something and didn't have the time to pull out the dice.

I'm going to leave it here now. Review it again with eyes more wide open and then figure out what I'm going to do.

I've been so slammed (you can see how slow I post) that I'm willing to accept this as the current state even if it's slightly off.

I'm in a losing position, but I'm curious to see how it plays out. It should be short and bloody. I'm not the type to retreat and try to slowly recover while you FoD me. One big brawl and if it's hopeless I'll concede.

I ran a risk on the dragon and it betrayed me.

Slammed over here too. The 18yo graduates next Saturday. So if I'm not working then I'm cleaning or fixing something here at the house. Plus, he's in band and choir, so 3 concerts in the last two weeks, plus I'm in charge of a fundraiser tomorrow night.

Steady as she goes is the motto. Oh ya, and as a Mother's Day gift to my wife, I'm taking her to see Sound of Music and planting (two definitely NOT my things).

I haven't responded with my turn, mostly, cause I'm still thinking about what the best move. Having fun tho. Thanks.

2 d10 and 8 d6 - odds of getting no ID's

9^2*5^8/10^2*6^8 = about 19%? that sounds high.


do I need to make it a combination? That gives basically 0%, thats not right either.

The math is right. 19% chance of no IDs. 81% chance of at least 1 ID.

If you look at the percentile chance of no IDs for 1 die, then 2, then 3, all the way down to 8, it's more believable when yo see the number.

not sure it matters, but I had that wraith being resurrected a few turns ago. so I only had one dead unit to choose from.
