If you're new to Steve & Joe's World, there are a few threads on posts "north" of here that you should read to (1) get a feel for the kind of humor we have here and (2) understand why we were exiled here in the first place. As we hijack-er, contribute to other threads in ways we feel deserve a mention here, we will add them, unless Chuck beats us to it by exiling them "south" first.

1. Under "Totally Off-topic," read the "Off-topic" thread begun on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 6:24 PM by DDiceRC.

2. Under "General Questions," read the "What to Call Them?" thread. This is the granddaddy of S&JW-ness.

Remember, there will be a quiz next Friday. Bring two sharpened #2 pencils, an eraser, a copy of the Dice Commander's Manual, an approved graphing calculator, a sextant, three blind mice, a signed note from your physician, and a partridge in a pear tree (but not Danny).

Technically, it doesn't really belong in the "Off-topic" topic, since it really was on topic, although I suppose you could argue that the topic itself is off-topic for its topic. Be that as it may, it requires a change in the Required Reading Syllabus:

This thread has been move to the "Totally Off-Topic" topic.

We have been very disappointed that our latest effort to hijack a thread "up north" was unsuccessful (then again, it was for the most part on topic), so we've decided to list it here, figuring that by once again reminding Chuck that there is something actually funny on an allegedly normal thread he'll decide it belongs down south after all. So, new to our Required Reading list:

3. Under "Trading," the thread "A Literary Trade." Note especially the time stamps from the third post to the end.

Me, completely consistent? Razz I'm consistently inconsistent. Maybe I'm just getting mellow in my old age. Maybe I just don't care anymore. Shocked Ok, how about I'm too busy trying to get events done for GenCon? Cool

A new thread has been added to your S&JW Required Reading List:

4) Under "Totally Off-topic," the thread "To Snipe or Not to Snipe?"

Never expect a topic one of us starts to stay totally focused...

I'll have you know, when you look up the phrase "on topic" in the dictionary, you will find our names there.

Under "antonyms."

Even though it's posted here in S&JW, the true student of Steve-and-Joe-ness absolutely must have a working knowledge of the ongoing story, "Once Upon a Forum."
