Here is the new thread.

Since we only have the Starter released (so far), let's play with any Daemon of 13 dice created out of only Frost and or Rot Body parts.

I think the most current version of the rules (online) are: 1.0.0l_20140207

Notice that with only two breeds released you can not create a mongrel. it is either a pure or half breed.

I can help you, but we said we would use body parts only. so the Shield and the Trident need to be replaced by something else and rolled.

So first off, we are both playing a purebred Frost. So we are immune to each others gas (lungs) and rays (eye) and poison (stinger).

The first two turns we don't get to do everything, but I List them all anyway.

First, I have to take any minuses you rolled. So lets go with your roll. It has 5 minus. So I have to choose 5 dice of mine which won't take an action this turn.

I will choose the two shells, the two mouths and the brain.

Now I roll whatever is left. In the online tool, you change them to minus and then click roll:

I have nothing stunned, so nothing to recover

Defend
On the first turn, you have no attacks against me, so we skip it. My Blocks do nothing for me.

Suffer
No attacks, so no damage, so no suffering.

Stun (via the arm)

Stun
Stun
Tail

Once you roll, you will assign your blocks against each of those attacks. Note that the Tail is a sweep, so it can't be blocked. it must be dodged or deflected.

Sometimes if I took damage or recovered anything, then I will post a final status of my daemon after my turn.

I had no minuses, so you get to roll all your dice.

Block the arm#1
... is that all?

4 stuns get through right?
What should I do here? Choose 4 dice to be stunned?
How about
Brain
3 eyes

Attack
2 stun foot w/ plus boost from lung
stinger
tentacle grabs your tail
Stun from arm
2 minuses

Let me know if I did that vaguely right..

That looks right. So after your turn, this is what you would look like.

The only other thing here is the way that Stinger is worded.

Quote:
Stinger: The Stinger initially counts as an attack
that does one stun damage. When attacks are
arrayed, the attacker can choose if it will inject
poison if that attack is not defended. If so, and the
attack is not defended, then poison is injected; the
Stinger is immediately stunned and the defender
suffers a wound damage from poison in addition to
the stun damage.


technically when you array it as an attack you choose if it is going to inject poison or not. Since I am immune to your poison, We can just assume that you didn't and never will for this game. Thus it is just a stun.

This is a game that plays better in person than online. and it's not as deep or long as Dragon Dice™, but it's not meant to be.

All my dice activate (ie the spent and minused can all be used)

An Arm is Grabbed
two minuses will be the two mouths.

No Minuses again.

Cliff, I don't see any spikes that came up in your roll. And one of the Pluses seems to be used for both defending and attacking.

It is simpler, but also has some hidden depth. It is also designed to 'fail fast' which some people don't like. They want to be able to recover and come back to win.

After this we can play with items or with additional breeds and show some of that depth.

So a few things (which would be easier with real dice), but if a die is chosen for damage, then it can't be used to attack. thus you wanted to take your mouth as damage, so it's minuses doesn't count.
On the flip side. You can choose to take a die for damage that has already taken its action for the turn (like being minus-ed or being used to defend)

so on your turn, the power of the Brain is that I get to assign the damage before you assign the other damage.

So, it does do two (from the tail), but I get to pick it. I would pick both Arms.
Then you would pick the other damage as normal. I'll let you pick which one you want to choose and then we will know what attacks are actually coming against me.

BTW yes, you do get to choose the target of the tentacle.


This is going down hill for you fast, but it's because I'm so focused on attack that I should've never gone first (its a balance and we choose to break it for this game)
