Not sure I understand the logic here. I'm also fairly certain that I'm looking at a trap.

March 1: My home: ranged attack at your campaign army.
Deluger - 3 ID
Stormer - 2 ID
Stormer - 2 Save
Marsh Swimmer - 2 Save
Sprayer - 2 Missile
Sprayer - 1 Missile
Sprayer - 1 Save
Bog Runner - 1 ID
Bog Runner - 2 Maneuver
Bog Runner - 2 Maneuver

So: 9 missile again.

My second action may or may not be affected by the first, so I'll wait till you reply Mr. Green

The trap is that there IS NO TRAP!

We can talk through the logic if you want, but I've been playing a losing game for a long time. The dragon didn't help. I have no way I can prevent you and I don't want to risk getting enough ID magic to path AND out maneuver your horde. so I'm doing something that is even more risky just so I can maybe roll for melee one time.

So: 9 missile again.
Behemoth - 4 Bash
Behemoth - 4 Save
Behemoth - 4 Charge
Pony Rider - 2 Maneuver
Fireshadow - 4 Smite
Fireshadow - 4 Cantrip
Fireshadow - 4 Counter

So enough saves and a cantrip. hmm... two ash storms on your home.

Makes sense. First time I've played where a player has willingly given up an 8th face, so thats new. Mr. Green

March 2: my horde: I could play the safe way, but what is the fun in that?
maneuver the terrain down to 4 again.
no action.

reserve movement.
move entire horde army to reserves.
move 3x bog runners from home to reserves.

Somehow I don't think I ever saw this last post, but I resign anyway. The new path spell is now in place and I'm still getting used to it. I would have to have made different choices.

There are times when it is better to give up the 8th. losing is losing if you do it fast or slow.

But capturing an 8th face can be a trap. it's great fun to get an opponent with an all melee army to capture an 8th face. they have no choice but to sit and hold it, but they can't do anything to you without magic or missile.

Good Game, Anyways

I've fallen into the 8th face melee trap before. Usually I try to summon any dragonkin I can and leave a small force there to hold it (usually only works short term...)
